September 25, 1999 Foliage color is starting to kick into high gear. Much of northwestern Maine, northern New Hampshire and The Northeast Kingdom of Vermont is reporting approximately 50% color change. Joining these areas, are the Adirondack mountains in New York and isolated sections of the Berkshire mountains in Massachusetts. Meanwhile, most of New Hampshire, all of Vermont and a large section of the Catskill Mountains in New York are now reporting between 10% and 30% change. Also, there are no longer any areas reporting no change in the Northeast. Leaf drop continues to be a non-factor in this years foliage season.
