Great foliage conditions can be found in much of northern Maine, northern New Hampshire, much of central Vermont and the Adirondack Mountains in northern New York where peak foliage color has arrived. High color (61% - 80% change) is being reported in central Maine, northern and eastern Vermont, portions of the Southern Tier in New York and parts of northeastern Pennsylvania. Elsewhere in the Northeast, conditions range from low color (11% - 30% change) to moderate color (31% - 60% change).
Hopefully, the weather will improve from the recent cloudy and rainy conditions experienced in much of the Northeast. This prolonged period of rain is due to a slow moving low pressure system moving up the coast. Some areas have received upwards of 12 inches of rain.
Leaf drop is mostly low throughout the region. However, some areas reporting high to peak color are now reporting moderate leaf drop.
