Fall colors are starting to pop in northern Maine, extreme northern New Hampshire and portions of northeastern Vermont where moderate color (31%-60% change) has been reported. Most other locations in northern New England and northeastern New York are reporting low color (11%-30% change). Low color is also found along the southern tier of New York, portions of western New York, western and northern Pennsylvania, northwestern New Jersey, northeast and northwest Connecticut and parts of southeastern Massachuetts. All other areas in the Northeast are reporting little to no change. Leaf drop is very low throughout the region.
Many of The Foliage Network spotters are reporting bright and brilliant early color. This is a very good sign that we are in for a fantastic foliage season (if the weather cooperates).
